In November of 2016, Sam Park made history as the first openly gay man to be elected to the Georgia state legislature, and he’s currently the only Asian-American serving in that chamber. Sam’s experience as the son of South Korean immigrants and being raised by a single mother led him to where he is today, serving as an advocate on behalf of others in his community.
