Rhetta Andrews Bowers

Rhetta Bowers is a problem solver. After making history in 2018 as the first African American to represent her district, she has spent her first term passing commonsense legislation and delivering results for all Texans. It’s time to send Rhetta back to the state House to continue being a voice for Texas’ children and families.

  • Former educator and longtime PTA volunteer who understands the importance of investing in public education and eliminating the school to prison pipeline
  • Authored the bill declaring March 1st “Texas Girls in STEM Day,” highlighting women in STEM and exposing young girls to fields relating to science, engineering, technology, and math
  • Fought to advance health care access, invest in neighborhood schools, and foster economic development during her term
