Padma Kuppa had two suitcases, $250, and the belief that nothing was going to stop her from achieving the American Dream when she returned to the U.S. to complete her graduate studies. Since then, Padma has become the first Indian immigrant and Hindu in the Michigan state legislature and is running for re-election to continue fighting for the community she loves.
