Jerry Newton

Jerry Newton has worn many hats in his community. Along with serving in the US Army for over two decades, he has worked as a local grain mill laborer, heavy equipment operator, small business owner, college professor, city council member, and school board member. After a successful first term in the state Senate, Jerry is running for re-election to continue advocating for working families and moving Minnesota forward.

  • Authored legislation to provide disabled veterans and their caregivers free public transportation and housing for those who are homeless
  • Supports proactive efforts to promote clean energy and combat climate change
  • Previously elected to Coon Rapids City Council, Anoka Hennepin School Board, and the Minnesota House of Representatives
