First-generation college graduate JD Ford was inspired to run for office by the civic values he learned from his parents and his grandparents – who also served in public office. He has worked to help others become effective leaders and was inspired to return to college to earn a master’s degree in education from Purdue University. If elected, he would be the first openly gay elected official in the Indiana General Assembly, a critical step in moving Indiana towards greater representation.
