Harold Pope Jr.

As a retired Air Force officer, nonprofit leader, and Albuquerque city government appointee, Harold Pope knows the value of public service. He currently works as a public school substitute teacher, helping mentor and set the next generation of New Mexico leaders up for success. His life experiences have provided him with the necessary leadership, perspective, and critical thinking skills to serve New Mexicans in the state Senate.

  • Served honorably in the US Air Force for over twenty years, working as a program manager, chemist, and more
  • Substitute teacher for Albuquerque Public Schools, determined to invest in early childhood education and provide adequate funding for K-12 and higher education
  • Working collaboratively to invest in small businesses, protect workers’ rights, and diversify the economy
